Does my phone support eSIM?

On an iPhone, open Settings → Mobile Service (on some iPhones: Mobile Data): if there is an Add eSIM option, the phone has an eSIM. On Android, look for an option to add an eSIM in the SIM settings (Samsung: SIM manager → Add eSIM, in Samsung’s January 2025 guide SIM card manager → Add mobile plan; Pixel: Add SIM). Can’t find it? How much does a day of mobile data cost worldwide?

On plans with a fixed data allowance, £0.10 to £1.63 a day worldwide: 200 MB for 30 days at £2.99 is the lowest daily price, 20 GB for 30 days the highest. The plan that costs least for the whole trip: for 7 days, 200 MB for 30 days at £0.43 a day; for 15 days, 200 MB for 30 days at £0.20 a day; for 30 days, 200 MB at £0.10 a day. Unused days are not refunded.

Does one eSIM work in all the destinations on the list?

Yes, in the 201 destinations listed on this page: when you cross a border, your phone joins the local network on its own, with the same profile. If you are visiting only one country, the plan for that country is usually cheaper.

What if the eSIM doesn't work when you land worldwide?

Check, in this order: data roaming is on for the eSIM line, the eSIM is chosen as the line for mobile data, and aeroplane mode is off. Then the APN: on this plan it is entered by hand on Android, wbdata. Still no connection? See what to check when the eSIM has no signal abroad.
