Roaming outside the EU zone, and the eSIM option Albania is not in EU roaming, and only Sky charges it like Spain: £2 a day (checked on 24 October 2026, [Sky tariff guide](https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-mobile-tariff-guide)). On Sky, or on a Three Complete, Vodafone Global Roam or O2 Ultimate plan, you may not need an eSIM at all. No. Albania is not in the EU, and none of the 15 UK networks puts it in its Europe zone (checked on 24 October 2026). Sky still charges £2 a day there, as it does in Spain. O2's list of 48 Europe destinations leaves Albania out, and O2 puts it in Zone 2 ([O2 EU roaming](https://www.o2.co.uk/eu-roaming), checked on 24 October 2026). Our plans are data only. ## Is a travel eSIM worth it? The best eSIM for Albania from the UK For a week of data, a data-only eSIM is the lower-risk route unless your plan already covers Albania. Our Albania plan runs on the One Albania network, data only, with no ID check. On 4G/5G coverage, the plan lists 4G only. It starts on first connection (our plan data, checked 24 October 2026). About 140MB a day fits in £3.99 for 1 GB over 7 days, data only: maps, messages, a few bookings. For video calls or remote work, £15.99 buys 10 GB over 30 days, data only, about 330MB a day. Ofcom warns that a phone near a border can join a foreign network by accident, and names Northern Ireland and Ireland, and Turkey and Greece ([Ofcom: using your mobile abroad](https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-and-broadband/saving-money/using-your-mobile-abroad), checked on 24 October 2026). Our reasoning, not an Ofcom finding: Corfu faces the Albanian coast, so a phone there can join an Albanian network.
