# VOXI roaming: why you need a pass abroad, European Roaming Pass and Global Extra

VOXI roaming needs a pass everywhere except Zone A: the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Man, Iceland and Norway. Without one, your allowances do not work abroad. The European Roaming Pass costs £2.60 for 1 day, £4.80 for 2 days, £15 for 8 days or £20 for 15 days, counted from the date you buy it (checked on 24 October 2026, [VOXI European roaming](https://www.voxi.co.uk/help/roaming-international/does-voxi-have-european-roaming)). For a week in Spain that is £15 for the 8-day pass; our Europe eSIM is £2.99 for 1 GB over 7 days, data only.

This site is not affiliated with VOXI; we sell eSIMs. [How we compare](https://esimworld.co.uk/how-we-compare/)

You may not need an eSIM at all. A trip to Dublin or Oslo needs nothing extra, and in the rest of Europe a pass keeps your own number and your plan's data. VOXI is a trading name of Vodafone Limited and, in VOXI's words, is on "the combined Vodafone and Three network" ([VOXI network coverage](https://www.voxi.co.uk/network-coverage-checker)). Sharing the Vodafone network at home does not mean sharing Vodafone's roaming prices. Those are on [the Vodafone page](https://esimworld.co.uk/roaming/vodafone/).

## Does VOXI work abroad without a pass?

No. A VOXI plan does not work abroad without a pass, outside Zone A. VOXI says: "If you don't buy a Pass, or use up your allowances whilst you're abroad, you won't be able to use any of your allowances (but will still be able to receive calls and texts)" (checked on 24 October 2026, [VOXI European roaming](https://www.voxi.co.uk/help/roaming-international/does-voxi-have-european-roaming)).

That sentence holds two traps. You land with no data until you buy a pass, so buy it before you go. And if your data runs out mid-trip, VOXI's answer is a Data Extra, "from as little as £3", bought on top of the pass.

You buy a pass by logging in to your VOXI account; VOXI's charges page says all roaming passes "can be purchased via My account". Zone A needs none: "all VOXI plans include Zone A, which includes Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man, Iceland and Norway" ([VOXI charges](https://www.voxi.co.uk/charges)).

## How much is the VOXI European Roaming Pass?

The VOXI roaming pass price for Europe is £2.60 for 1 day, £4.80 for 2 days, £15 for 8 days and £20 for 15 days. VOXI says these prices are "valid from 30 May 2025" (checked on 24 October 2026, [VOXI European roaming](https://www.voxi.co.uk/help/roaming-international/does-voxi-have-european-roaming)).

| VOXI European Roaming Pass | Price | How long it runs |
|---|---|---|
| 1 day | £2.60 | from the date you buy it |
| 2 days | £4.80 | from the date you buy it |
| 8 days | £15 | from the date you buy it |
| 15 days | £20 | from the date you buy it |

The pass covers "your inclusive plan data, or 20GB fair usage (whichever is less)". A 10GB plan gets 10GB abroad; a 100GB plan gets 20GB. VOXI's social media and video data, free of your allowance at home, is UK-only. Abroad, those apps use your plan's general data.

VOXI's rule is that the pass counts down "from the date you buy it, not when it's first used". Buy an 8-day pass the evening before a morning flight and that evening at home is part of the 8 days. VOXI does not say whether it counts by calendar day or by the hour, so buy as close to departure as you can.

### What VOXI roaming costs, day by day

VOXI sells one pass at a time: "you'll need to wait until one expires before buying another". So the sum for a 5-day or a 10-day trip is a chain of passes, bought back to back. The table is our arithmetic from VOXI's published prices.

<!-- visual-slot -->

| Trip length, days | Smallest VOXI total (our sum) | How |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | £2.60 | 1-day pass |
| 2 | £4.80 | 2-day pass |
| 3 | £7.40 | 2-day pass, then 1-day pass |
| 4 | £9.60 | two 2-day passes |
| 5 | £12.20 | two 2-day passes, then 1-day pass |
| 6 | £14.40 | three 2-day passes |
| 7 | £15 | 8-day pass |
| 8 | £15 | 8-day pass |
| 9 | £17.60 | 8-day pass, then 1-day pass |
| 10 | £19.80 | 8-day pass, then 2-day pass |
| 11 to 15 | £20 | 15-day pass |
| 16 | £22.60 | 15-day pass, then 1-day pass |

Source: VOXI European roaming page, checked on 24 October 2026. The pass prices are VOXI's; the totals are ours. The 16-day chain is VOXI's own example.

The 8-day pass pays from the seventh day: six days cost £14.40 in 2-day passes, seven would cost £17. From day 11 the 15-day pass at £20 is the smallest sum.

For a week in Spain, VOXI's smallest figure is £15 for the 8-day pass, against £2.99 for our Spain plan with 1 GB over 7 days ([Spain eSIM](https://esimworld.co.uk/esim-spain/)). They are different products. VOXI's pass uses your plan's own data, minutes and texts on your own number; our plan is data only. [Keeping your UK number](https://esimworld.co.uk/help/keep-your-uk-number/) explains how to run both on one phone.

## Which countries are in Zone A and Zone B?

Zone A has 4 destinations and is free on every VOXI plan. Zone B is most of Europe plus several French overseas territories. VOXI's help page numbers 47 destinations, each needing a European Roaming Pass (checked on 24 October 2026, [VOXI: how to use your plan abroad](https://www.voxi.co.uk/help/roaming-international/how-to-use-voxi-plan-abroad)).

| VOXI zone | Where | What you pay |
|---|---|---|
| Zone A | Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man, Iceland, Norway | nothing extra |
| Zone B | 47 destinations, including France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, Switzerland, Jersey, Guernsey and Gibraltar | a European Roaming Pass |

VOXI's two pages disagree on Kosovo and Italy. The help page leaves Kosovo out of its list and puts Italy in Zone B. The charges page lists Kosovo in [its Europe zone](https://esimworld.co.uk/roaming/europe/), and Italy both there and in Rest of the world Zone 1. We follow the help page: Italy is Zone B. For Kosovo we give no zone; ask VOXI before you go.

Of the three Crown Dependencies, VOXI keeps the Isle of Man free; Jersey, Guernsey and Gibraltar need a pass. Our Europe plan does not cover Jersey, Guernsey or the Isle of Man; Gibraltar is in it. For every network side by side, read [the Crown Dependencies guide](https://esimworld.co.uk/roaming/crown-dependencies-gibraltar/).

## VOXI Global Roaming Extra outside Europe

VOXI international roaming outside its Europe zone runs on Global Roaming Extra. It costs £16 for 8 days with 2GB, 100 minutes and 100 texts, or £26.60 for 15 days with 4GB, 200 minutes and 200 texts (checked on 24 October 2026, [VOXI Global Roaming Extras](https://www.voxi.co.uk/help/articles/what-are-global-roaming-extras-and-how-do-they-work----2cc71973-bb4a-436f-a6cd-1497441ed34d)).

VOXI's help page numbers 73 countries for the Extra, among them the USA, Turkey, Thailand, Egypt, Morocco, India, Japan, Australia and [Canada](https://esimworld.co.uk/sim-card/canada/). Like the European pass, it counts down from the date you buy it. Calls and texts to a third country are not included: VOXI charges its standard international rates for those.

| Destination | VOXI Global Roaming Extra, 8 days | Our plan, 1 GB for 7 days |
|---|---|---|
| [USA](https://esimworld.co.uk/esim-united-states/) | £16 with 2GB, 100 minutes, 100 texts | £2.99, data only |
| [Turkey](https://esimworld.co.uk/esim-turkey/) | £16 with 2GB, 100 minutes, 100 texts | £2.99, data only |

Source: VOXI Global Roaming Extras page, checked on 24 October 2026. The Extra includes calls and texts on your own number; our plan is data only and starts on first connection abroad, not on purchase. The VOXI bundle is 2GB over 8 days, ours 1 GB over 7 days, so the two prices are not like for like.

Outside the 73 countries there is no Extra. You top up your VOXI account with credit and pay by the megabyte. VOXI's charges page prints 12p a megabyte in its first rest-of-world band, 60p in the second and £1.20 in the third and fourth (checked on 24 October 2026, [VOXI charges](https://www.voxi.co.uk/charges)). At 12p, 100MB comes to £12 (our sum). The table is headed "with roaming pass", which is unclear, so check the wording on VOXI's page before you rely on those rates.

**Turkey:** buy and install your eSIM before you travel. eSIM shops, including ours, may not open on Turkish networks.

## VOXI pass or a travel eSIM for 8 or 15 days?

For 8 days in Europe VOXI's pass is £15 and for 15 days £20 (checked on 24 October 2026). Our Europe plan is £2.99 for 1 GB over 7 days, data only, so for 15 days you would set two or more of ours against the pass.

Three things decide it. First, the zone: Zone A costs nothing on VOXI, so Ireland, the Isle of Man, Iceland and Norway need neither a pass nor an eSIM.

Second, how much data you use. The pass gives your plan's data up to 20GB; our plans are sold by the GB. Check what your phone says you use in a week at home.

Third, whether you need calls and texts on your own number. The pass keeps them; our plan does not.

Stay with VOXI for a long trip in Zone B where you use your plan's data every day. A travel eSIM makes more sense for a short trip where passes come in awkward steps, or for data in a country outside the 73 with an Extra. For any network, [roaming or eSIM](https://esimworld.co.uk/roaming-or-esim/) walks through the same decision.

## eSIM on VOXI: activation and transfer

On VOXI you choose eSIM when buying, VOXI e-mails a QR code, you scan it with the phone's camera and choose VOXI for data and calls. VOXI says you can be on its network "in as little as 10 minutes" ([VOXI eSIM](https://www.voxi.co.uk/esim), checked on 24 October 2026).

Already a customer on a physical SIM? VOXI's route to an eSIM is My Account, then Settings, then eSIM. VOXI prints no separate steps for moving an eSIM to a new phone. The makers' own paths are in [how to transfer an eSIM](https://esimworld.co.uk/help/transfer-esim/).

Your VOXI eSIM is your VOXI line, with your number. A travel eSIM from us is a second, data-only line next to it. A dual SIM phone holds both: VOXI for calls and texts, the travel line for data, with VOXI data roaming off ([data roaming settings](https://esimworld.co.uk/help/data-roaming-settings/)).

## Frequently asked questions

### Does VOXI work abroad?

Only with a pass outside Zone A. In Zone A (Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man, Iceland, Norway) every VOXI plan works with no pass. Elsewhere in Europe you need a European Roaming Pass, from £2.60 for 1 day (checked on 24 October 2026). Without one you can still receive calls and texts.

### How much is the VOXI European Roaming Pass?

£2.60 for 1 day, £4.80 for 2 days, £15 for 8 days and £20 for 15 days (checked on 24 October 2026). The days count from the date you buy the pass, not from when you first use it. VOXI says these prices are valid from 30 May 2025.

### How do I move my VOXI eSIM to a new phone?

VOXI's eSIM page gives no separate steps for a new phone. The route it names for existing customers is VOXI My Account, then Settings, then eSIM, which VOXI describes for swapping a physical SIM to an eSIM; start there or ask VOXI. The phone makers' own menu paths are in our [transfer guide](https://esimworld.co.uk/help/transfer-esim/).

### Is the UK in EU roaming on VOXI?

No. The UK is outside the EU, and VOXI puts most of Europe in Zone B, where you need a European Roaming Pass. Only Zone A (Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man, Iceland, Norway) is included on every plan (checked on 24 October 2026).
