# Three roaming: Go Roam in Europe and Around the World, passes and eSIM on Three
Three charges £2.75 a day for Go Roam in Europe on Lite and Lite+ plans you joined or upgraded to from 18 December 2025 (checked on 24 October 2026, [Three Go Roam](https://www.three.co.uk/support/roaming-and-calling-abroad/roaming-abroad/go-roam)). The same plans pay £8 a day in Go Roam Around the World. Three Value includes Europe and Three Complete includes every band. Two days on the Europe daily charge come to £5.50, and a 3-day Go Roam in Europe pass is £5. Our Europe eSIM is £2.99 for 1 GB over 7 days, data only.

You may not need an eSIM. On Value or Complete your plan already works in its bands, the Republic of Ireland and the Isle of Man carry no daily charge, and a single day abroad on the daily charge (£2.75) costs less than any pass. This page covers Three UK, not Three Ireland.
## How much is Go Roam in Europe on Three?
Go Roam in Europe costs £2.75 a day for customers on Lite and Lite+ who joined or upgraded on or after 18 December 2025, and £2 a day for those who joined or upgraded between 1 October 2021 and 17 December 2025 (checked on 24 October 2026, [Three Go Roam](https://www.three.co.uk/support/roaming-and-calling-abroad/roaming-abroad/go-roam)).
Each charge unlocks your UK allowance for 24 hours; Three applies the £2.75 rate from 1 April 2026. SIM Only 24-month Lite 25GB or 120GB plans from 1 June 2025 pay £2. Value and Complete plans pay no daily charge in their bands.

Three's Go Roam page and its price guide print different Around the World figures for customers who joined between 1 October 2021 and 17 December 2025. The £8 for newer joiners is where both agree, so we print only that; for older plans read [Three's latest price guides](https://www.three.co.uk/terms-conditions/price-guides/latest-price-guides).
Three's price guide says "Daily roaming charges will increase each 1 April by the Consumer Price Index rate published in January of that year + an additional 3.9%". The same guide leaves SIM Only 24-month Lite 25GB and 120GB plans from 31 May 2025 out of that rise.
Three says pay monthly customers can use "up to 12GB of your data allowance in any Go Roam destination", and above it data costs 0.3p per MB. Two complete months in a rolling 12 spent only in Go Roam destinations can lead Three to suspend roaming. Ireland is outside the limit.
### What a trip costs on Three, day by day
Three's passes beat the EU roaming daily charge from the second day. The table is our arithmetic from Three's published rates, for Lite and Lite+ plans from 18 December 2025, with Go Roam in Europe passes bought as needed and used in order.

The 3-day pass is the smallest rate per day: £1.67, against about £1.71 on the 7-day Go Roam pass and the 14-day pass (our arithmetic). Stacked 3-day passes therefore undercut the 14-day pass on a 12- or 15-day trip, and on a 6-day trip two 3-day passes (£10) undercut the 7-day pass.
For a week in Spain, then, Three's smallest figure is £12 for the 7-day Go Roam in Europe pass, against £2.99 for our Europe plan with 1 GB over 7 days ([the Europe eSIM](https://esimworld.co.uk/esim-europe/)). They are different products. Three's pass uses your UK allowance, minutes and texts on your own number, up to 12GB; our plan is data only. Three also sells a Data Travel Pass for Europe that is separate from your UK allowance and starts on first data use in the country:

The Europe Data Travel Pass works in 51 destinations: the Go Roam in Europe list plus the Faroe Islands and Kosovo, which sit in Around the World Extra for Go Roam.
## Which countries are in Three's Go Roam bands?
Three splits roaming into three bands: Go Roam in Europe with 49 destinations, Go Roam Around the World with 22 and Go Roam Around the World Extra with 92 (checked on 24 October 2026, [Three Go Roam](https://www.three.co.uk/support/roaming-and-calling-abroad/roaming-abroad/go-roam)).
Go Roam in Europe takes in the EU states, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. Turkey is not in it. Nor is Monaco: Three puts it in Rest of World, data band 1, at 10p per MB. Andorra sits in Around the World Extra.

An Around the World pass also covers Go Roam in Europe, and an Around the World Extra pass covers all three bands. A trip across two bands needs one pass, for the higher band.
Outside the three bands you pay per MB. Three's price guide gives data band 1 at 10p, band 2 at £3 and band 3 at £6 per MB, so 10MB in band 3 comes to £60 (our sum). Three's default worldwide data roaming limit is £45 excluding VAT, as Three states it. It is Three's own setting: Ofcom says the statutory roaming protections ended in June 2022 ([Ofcom roaming protections](https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-and-broadband/bills-and-charges/mobile-roaming-customer-protections)). Since 1 October 2024, Ofcom's General Condition C3.15 also requires a free message when your phone joins a network abroad, with prices and fair-use limits ([Ofcom guidance on C3](https://www.ofcom.org.uk/siteassets/resources/documents/phones-telecoms-and-internet/information-for-industry/general-authorisation-regime/guidance-on-general-condition-c3-roaming-requirements-1-october-2024.pdf)).

## What does Three charge in the USA, Turkey and further away?
Three charges £8 a day in both Around the World bands to Lite and Lite+ customers who joined or upgraded on or after 18 December 2025. A 7-day pass is £30 in the USA (Around the World) and £42 in Turkey and Thailand (Around the World Extra) (checked on 24 October 2026, [Three price guide](https://www.three.co.uk/content/dam/threedigital/terms-and-conditions/price-guides/latest-price-guides/threeyourwayplans-priceguide-post19apr2026-12102026.pdf)).
For older plans, check your plan's price guide. The passes use your UK allowance, up to 12GB.

Seven days at £8 a day come to £56 (our sum), so any 7-day pass beats it. The Worldwide Data Travel Pass costs £26 for 7 days with 18GB; the Data Travel Pass Worldwide destinations number 31, among them the USA and Turkey. [Thailand](https://esimworld.co.uk/sim-card/thailand/) is not on that list.

## Three passes or a travel eSIM for a week away?
For 7 days in Europe on Lite or Lite+, Three's smallest figure is the £12 Go Roam in Europe pass, against £19.25 on the daily charge (checked on 24 October 2026). Our Europe plan is £2.99 for 1 GB over 7 days, data only.
Four things decide it:
1. **Your plan.** Value includes Go Roam in Europe and Complete includes every band. Inside those bands you pay Three nothing extra, up to 12GB. Lite and Lite+ pay the daily charge or a pass.
2. **Your joining date.** £2.75 from 18 December 2025, £2 for 1 October 2021 to 17 December 2025.
3. **Your days and band.** Europe passes start at £5 for 3 days. Around the World Extra starts at £17.50 for 3 days.
4. **Your data.** Three's passes stop at 12GB of your allowance; ours are sold by the GB. Compare the plan size with what your phone says you use in a week at home.
Stay on Three when you need calls and texts on your own number or you are in Ireland. A travel eSIM makes more sense in the Extra band, where a week costs £42, or when you only need data. [Roaming or eSIM](https://esimworld.co.uk/roaming-or-esim/) walks through the decision for any network.
## Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man on Three
Three charges nothing to unlock your allowances in the Republic of Ireland or the Isle of Man, and charges its Go Roam in Europe daily rate in Jersey, Guernsey and Gibraltar on Lite and Lite+ (checked on 24 October 2026, [Three Go Roam](https://www.three.co.uk/support/roaming-and-calling-abroad/roaming-abroad/go-roam)).

On a ship or a plane the price jumps. Three puts airlines and maritime networks in Rest of World data band 3 at £6 per MB. A phone on a ferry can join a maritime network unnoticed, so switch data roaming off at sea. ## eSIM on Three: activation and transfer
Three offers an eSIM on SIM only or on a compatible device, set up in the phone settings or by QR code, and says activation is "usually straight away" and in some cases takes up to 7 hours (checked on 24 October 2026, [Three eSIM help](https://www.three.co.uk/support/sim-support/esim)).
For a replacement eSIM, Three points you to My3 or the Three app. It also lists eSIM Quick Transfer for iPhones and some Android phones. The phone makers' own menu paths are in [how to transfer an eSIM](https://esimworld.co.uk/help/transfer-esim/).
Your Three eSIM is your Three line, with your number. A travel eSIM from us is a second, data-only line next to it. A dual SIM phone holds both: Three for calls and texts, the travel line for data, with data roaming off on the Three line ([data roaming settings](https://esimworld.co.uk/help/data-roaming-settings/)).
## Roaming on Three pay as you go
On Three, pay as you go roaming has no daily charge in Go Roam in Europe or Around the World, and Around the World Extra is not available on PAYG (checked on 24 October 2026, [Three PAYG roaming](https://www.three.co.uk/support/roaming-and-calling-abroad/roaming-abroad/roaming-abroad-on-payg)).
Three says "Daily roaming charges don't apply if you're on a Pay As You Go … plan". Your data abroad comes from your Data Pack instead:

Three does not offer Around the World Extra on PAYG. In those 92 destinations, Turkey and Thailand among them, a travel eSIM is one way to get data.

### How much is roaming with Three?

### How to get international roaming on 3?
Check your plan first. Value includes Go Roam in Europe and Complete includes all bands, so there is nothing to add. On Lite and Lite+ you pay the daily charge or buy a Go Roam pass. Pay as you go customers use their Data Pack abroad with no daily charge. Three and 3 are the same UK network.
### Is roaming still free in the UK?
Not on every network. Five of the [15 UK networks we compare](https://esimworld.co.uk/roaming/) charge for Europe, Three among them on Lite and Lite+ (checked on 24 October 2026). Three Value and Complete include it, and the Republic of Ireland and the Isle of Man carry no daily charge.
### What countries are included in EU roaming on Three?
Three lists 49 destinations in Go Roam in Europe, including Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Greece, Jersey, Guernsey and Gibraltar (checked on 24 October 2026). Turkey is not one of them: it sits in Around the World Extra.
